You just had the cash you could withdraw and that was it. You might organize it by envelopes for budgeting help, and then withdraw money from those envelopes for whatever you need, gas, groceries, going out to eat, etc. And that’s it, the money is out of the envelope, and spent, and gone. This is such an effective way of budgeting and still works today. But in today’s cashless world, it can sometimes feel like more of a hassle.
