Is our US military budget too high? Is this a nonpartisan issue that we can all agree on regardless of what side of the aisle you’re on? Let’s discuss this.

Welcome back to Millennial Minute with David Grasso. Be sure to like, subscribe, and hit the notification bell for US news, and all things Bold.

Joining David Grasso today is Contributor to Turning Point USA Erin Elmore, and Democratic Strategist Max Burns.

Max Burns starts off by saying we need to ask if we're spending our military budget smartly? And the answer is a resounding no. In 2018 the accounting firm Ernst & Young backed out of an audit of the Department of Defence. They said that there were so many bookkeeping errors, along with misplacing accounting, that they couldn’t conduct a reliable audit of where money was even going. So we need to look at our military spending with a clear accountability structure of where the money was going, and what the return is for taxpayers.

Erin Elmore agrees with what Max Burns is saying. She says that they both believe that the US military should support our country and be strong, but nothing should be a blank check from taxpayers. It’s very easy to spend other people’s money, and in this case, it’s very easy to spend the taxpayers’ money limitlessly. We need accountability to be held in military spending, and if we have this we can have a clearer picture of where else the money can be spent, on the US military or otherwise.

It’s apparent that this is a bipartisan issue that we can all agree on, and with Bold TV that’s what we strive for. Our mission is to look at the issues without the labels, and show our audience how once we look past the labels we can see nonpartisan issues that we all can agree on.
