Bumble gave their employees a whole week off to prevent burnout. Is this excessive? Well, burnout can be a big issue. It can make you feel tired, lose creativity or even resent your job regardless if you love or hate what you do. It can also cause serious health concerns like high blood pressure and depression.
Giving the entire company 7 days off sounds like a recipe for disaster, no? But it actually allows for all the employees to completely unplug. How many times have you been on vacation yet still answering work emails?
Everyone deserves to relax and disconnect and avoid burnout. Bumble isn’t the only one to do this. Many companies are trying out company wide breaks. But Bumble is the only one advertising it. Why? It’s a recruitment tool. They know that this will entice potential future employees.
