You can either have a meta pet that looks like your real pet or a metaverse pet that is simply an avatar of a made-up creature. People like these pets because they demand less money and attention, making them less of a financial and emotional commitment.
So, does this suggest that real-life pets are becoming redundant?
A fake pet may be a good option for you if you travel frequently for work or simply don't have the time to devote to a pet. If you're allergic to animals and have never been able to own one in the actual world, having a pet in the metaverse is a good option.
But, at the end of the day, you're just looking for a character from a video game. You won't be able to hold the animal or receive any physical affection from it.
Many individuals rely on their pets for emotional support and companionship, and the metaverse would be devoid of this.
