Elon Musk has purchased a significant portion of Twitter.

Following his criticism of the social network for censorship on its site, the world's richest man now owns 9% of Twitter's total shares. He owns 73 million shares worth around $3 billion. Elon is now the largest outside shareholder in Twitter, owning four times more than the company's founder, Jack Dorsey.

Elon, of course, is a Twitter user who has advocated for free speech on the platform, referring to it as the de facto public town square. He's also had run-ins with the law in the past as a result of his tweets.
