Donating in crypto is popular because it allows you to give to a charity anonymously while also avoiding some of the taxes involved with charitable giving. To put it another way, more of your money is donated to charity. In 2019, UNICEF became the first United Nations organization to accept cryptocurrency donations.
The Rainforest Foundation, Save the Children, Tor Project, and the Electronic Freedom Foundation are among the groups that have followed suit. With events like #CryptoGivingTuesday, organizations are promoting the notion of donating with cryptocurrency.
This event is hosted by the Giving Block to raise awareness about the good that crypto can achieve through donations.
As crypto becomes a more common part of our lives, we're seeing more and more coin donations. Many people gave cryptocurrency to help Ukraine so that the money could be converted to fiat currency quickly and easily. They were able to raise more than $55 million as a result of these contributions.
