You used to be able to walk into a record store, browse the variety of music, and pick out an album by your favorite musician. The best part is that you walk out of the store with new music in your hands. Most of us don't have that kind of musical experience nowadays.
However, we may be able to revive the feeling of discovering unique music and being able to own it, although digitally, in the music industry via NFTs.
Consider an NFT to be a digital version of a baseball card or a record. Artists can make and distribute one-of-a-kind versions of their music, including remixes, collaborations, and more. Artists used to autograph copies of their albums when they first started selling them in record stores, and these autographed versions were only available for a limited period and at a higher price.
Music NFTs may work in a similar fashion, with a limited amount of your favorite artists' work accessible for purchase on the marketplace. That is also one of the reasons why they are so important.
And if you buy music as an NFT from your favorite artist, say a limited-edition remix album with just 5000 copies available, you might own it just like a record.
This is due to the fact that your transaction is recorded on the blockchain ledger. When artists create one-of-a-kind items and limit their market availability. It gives the impression of exclusivity.
Don't you think your friends would be jealous that you own a one-of-a-kind autographed copy? Of course, they would.
NFTs are bringing that same level of exclusivity back to the digital marketplace.
