The Bay Area beats everyone, with San Jose and San Francisco at 1 and 2 on this list. Per capita income is over 100K per person. The Bay Area is the richest part of America, bar none. Next up is Boston, New York City, Seattle, and Washington, DC.
And rounding out the top 10 are Denver, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Hartford, Connecticut. Notice what cities aren't in the top 10? Well, I can notice a few: Phoenix, Vegas, Miami, Dallas, Houston, Austin, Nashville, and several other fast-growing cities.
Maybe as people migrate, these income gaps will close, but for now, the rich areas are head and shoulders above their metro peers.
