Furious Trump Attacks Mitch McConnell

A furious Donald Trump has lashed out and attacked Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell for not doing enough to overturn the election, and Trump went as far as to say that Mitch only won his election because Trump backed him. That's a pretty bold claim, considering that McConnell is actually very popular in Kentucky and has been winning his Senate elections since the 1980's. Trump is just mad that his lie is falling apart, and he needs someone to blame for it, as Farron Cousins explains.

Donald Trump is still fuming over the revelations over the past weekend about bill BARR saying that his claims of election lies were total BS about Mitch McConnell, begging bill BARR, to talk some sense into Trump, make him see reality. So Trump has spent the last few days attacking both William Barr, his own attorney general and Mitch McConnell. And as I'd already pointed out, those are the two people that basically allowed Trump to have any success as president of the United States. But Trump doesn't care. All Trump sees is no matter how much these people did for me. At one point they disagreed with me. I'm going to relentlessly attack him, uh, attack them. So Tuesday he comes out, he attacks William Barr is weak and effective, slow. He called, he called him slow. I'm not saying I disagree with you, but dang. But on Monday he leveled even more attacks at Mitch McConnell. And he said something that is just so false that I actually have to come to Mitch McConnell's defense. Here it is had Mitch McConnell fought for the presidency like he should have. There would right now be presidential vetoes on all of the phase legislation that he has proven to be incapable of stopping. He never fought for the white house and blew it for the country too bad. I backed him in Kentucky. He would have been primaried and lost.

Hitler could've come out and endorsed Mitch McConnell and he still would have won, right? Your endorsement, even if or your endorsement or lack of endorsement would have meant nothing in that race. The people of Kentucky actually like Mitch McConnell. Now the rest of the country does not. But Mitch McConnell has used his position of power to do a lot of favors for a lot of wealthy folks in Kentucky, they keep funding his campaigns and they keep telling the rest of the state, Hey, things are good. No, look, he gave us a contract over here. It's really not helping you average folks, but he's steering contracts towards us. So clearly he's doing something for Kentucky. That's how they sell it. And that's how he keeps winning because that is what's happening again, not helping the average Kentucky resident doesn't change. The fact that Kentucky has the highest cancer rate out of the entire United States.

A lot of that has to do with the massive amounts of, uh, fossil fuel pollution in the state and other, you know, toxic sites in the state, but sure, yeah, Mitch, McConnell's still popular in Kentucky. So that's why I find Trump's claim here. So incredibly ridiculous. Right? The guy is now serving. I was his seventh term. I think it actually is seventh term in the United States. Senate Trump's endorsement is not what kept Mitch McConnell his job. Trump did not prevent Mitch McConnell from being primaried, but on the other hand, Mitch McConnell did allow Donald Trump to have some kind of mild success as president specifically with packing the courts, Mitch McConnell literally handed Donald Trump to Supreme court seats. And let's not forget the a couple hundred other judges that Donald Trump put on the bench with lifetime appointments that Mitch McConnell rammed through. And of course, thanks to deals with Chuck Schumer. He got a lot more than he should have. So yeah, maybe you ought to stop tacking Mitch McConnell because Mitch McConnell is a horrible human being in an awful Senator, but
