5:08Now PlayingDonald Trump's "Truth Social" platform has only been online for a week, and they've already been hit with problem after problem. The latest scandal to rock the platform was revealed this past weekend, when it was reported that the site was creating official-looking accounts for prominent media outlets. The goal was to make it look like REAL media outlets wanted to be a part of the site, but that fell apart very quickly. Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

If you're wondering how bad things are going for Donald Trump's news, social media site, truth, social we'll consider the reports that came out over the weekend, showing that they've been busted now creating fake fake profiles on their site for legitimate news networks. This is according to a new report from Axios. That again came out over the weekend. They didn't explicitly tell us which outlets. Of course they were mimicking, but you can go on there and see if they're still there. And haven't been deleted already, but here's the big problem. Truth. Social was having a big issue, recruiting legitimate people to their website. So what they did was they make all these fake profiles for news outlets, you know, like CNN and whatnot, making it look using official logos, making it appear that these legitimate news sites had in fact made their way over to truth, social.
And of course, people believed that people thought, oh, okay, well maybe this isn't just a fly by night, stupid grift by Donald Trump. If you have legitimate news outlets there, maybe I should sign up. And that was the point of it to create this. He of legitimacy in an otherwise absolute and complete show because that's what it is. That that's what truth. Social was pretty much always going to be. That is what experts were telling us even before they launched just eight days ago. But here's the real kicker, right? How sad, how sad is it that this site would go as far as to contradict everything? Donald Trump has always told us, cuz that's the real thing that nobody's hit on yet. You see Donald Trump, I'm sure you probably remember this spend his years in office. And even before he came to office calling these media outlets that his website is now pretending to be fake news.
You can't trust him. They're not reliable, but there's so untrustworthy that in order to convince people that his website is trustworthy, he had to pretend that these websites, these news outlets that he hates are on his own site. So that's the real problem. Here is the big contradiction between what Trump has been saying for years and years now about these outlets. They're the enemy of the people. They're all fake news. They make things up, but they carry so much weight. That of course we're gonna pretend they're actually on our website. And that's just in the first eight days folks, eight days, this thing has been online and they're already re sorting to creating fake accounts so that people think it's a legitimate social media site. That is how desperate they are. That is how pathetic the product is that
They're putting out. Remember I've said this repeatedly. And of course, about a week before it launched experts came out and said the same thing. There's no market for this. There is no market for a basically conservative only version of Twitter in a market that already has like three or four of them already. You've got parlor, you've got gab, you've got getter on the video side, you've got rumble. You have these right wing media sites already that aren't doing very well. Most of them, not all of them, but most of them struggling to attract users a year ago, by the way a report came out about some of these social media sites, four conservatives free speech sites talking about how users hated it because there's no arguments. You know, you're just preaching to the same choir.
So why did Donald Trump think, you know what? I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna make it happen. This is a guy that couldn't even market bottled water. There's a million different kinds of bottled wall. And he still couldn't even break into that market. The guy couldn't even run a casino, a place where literally people walk in and just start forking over money in the hopes of winning more. But you know, 98% of them guaranteed to not win anything. You couldn't even make a profit doing that. So what the hell do people is gonna happen when they go and sign up for Donald Trump's website? The guy can't sell water. He can't sell a casino. He couldn't sell Trump's steaks. Couldn't make Trump university work or Trump airlines. The list is on and on and on. And eventually probably within a year or two, we'll be going ahead and adding truth, social to that list as well.
