According to Senate DFL sponsors, the bill would make substantial investments in transportation, education, and environmental and water infrastructure. They also said it would create almost 40,000 jobs.
Capitol Investment Committee Chair LeRoy Stumpf, DFL-Plummer, called the proposal basic, like a Ford or a Chevy rather than a Cadillac, and claimed its necessity in meeting legislative duties.
