28:01Now PlayingGovernor Mark Dayton, Senate Majority Leader Tom Bakk and House Minority Leader Paul Thissen urged House Republicans to reveal their bonding proposal at a press conference on Wednesday, May 4, noting that it’s the last big piece to complete before the end of session. Governor Dayton released his bonding proposal in January, and the Senate released its proposal on Monday, May 2, which is expected to be heard on the Senate floor on Thursday, May 4. House Republicans have released the figure of $600 million dollars as their target for a bonding proposal, but no specifics have yet been offered.
While Rep. Paul Torkelson, R-Hanska, recently referred to the bonding bill as “dessert”, Governor Dayton sees it as “part of the main course”.
