Throughout the shelter-in-place order, members of the Senate transportation committee have been preparing legislation for the upcoming April 14 floor session that would conform state law with federal changes affecting the renewal and issuance of commercial driver licenses.
Charlie Zelle, chair of the Metropolitan Council, and Luther Wynder of the Minnesota Valley Transit Authority described the steps being taken on transit systems to ensure the safety of patrons and drivers, including frequent cleaning, rear-door entering for riders and personal protective equipment for drivers.
