6:59Now PlayingMaharashtra: When the pandemic hit India, a village called Taloja in Maharashtra had no working government or private hospitals. The residents took matters in their own and set up their own hospital in a school. The money was collected by crowdfunding and the local administration in the village also helped the residents. People from neighbouring villages use the services of this hospital saying it is better than most hospitals.
A special report by Mirror now says that this hospital is being run by 3 Doctors, 4 nurses and 5 staff members. After several failed attempts of getting a govt. hospital the residents made their own hospital by funding 4 lakh rupees. Arif Patel, Village Committee Head says this hospital was made to combat the rising pandemic situation. His efforts were fruitful and on receiving permission from the CM the hospital set up. The doctor cost at this hospital is Rs.100. Asymptomatic patients could be tested here.
Mirror now questions the Panvel's civic body chief about the administration's failure at setting up a hospital. The Chief said the hospital would be set up once funds come in.
