1:01Now PlayingHathras gang rape has shaken the entire nation, not only because of the brutal incident that took place but also because how the state police, in this case, the Uttar Pradesh police responded to it. The victim’s MLC test was not conducted and an FIR was registered 8 days after this heinous crime took place. There was no mention of MLC in the FIR that was registered by the police. To further aggravate the situation, the U.P police forcibly cremated the victim’s body, without informing the family and by confining them into their home.
A Special Investigation Team has been formed in order to probe the entire matter and according to the sources, the statements of both DM and SP will be recorded as well. The statements of DM and SP are of crucial importance here because the act of cremating the victim must have been done under the supervision of either of the two.
