A drama unveiled itself yesterday as Congress leaders Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi were detained on their way to Hathras and Rahul Gandhi was jostled down by the Uttar Pradesh police.
Media, which is considered an integral part of democracy and society, has also been denied entry to Hathras and to further aggravate the matter, the victim’s family has been confined into their home. After Congress leaders, Trinamool Congress’ MPs tried to reach Hathras and were stopped just 1km away from the victim’s home. The MPs including the women MPs were manhandled by the U.P police and all of them direct their questions to U.P CM Yogi Adityanath as to why these MPs are being stopped if all they wish to do is express their condolences.
