Feb 3, 20234:43Now PlayingA Joshimath-like crisis has erupted in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district, where a village is sinking and more than 20 houses and a mosque have developed cracks, causing residents to panic. Officials say the families have been relocated to a safer location, and experts have been dispatched to the village to investigate the cause of the soil shifting, which has resulted in building cracks. In the Tathri municipal area, the village of Nai Basti has about 50 houses. According to Tathri Sub Divisional Magistrate Athar Amin, the affected families have been relocated to safer areas, and the cause of the soil sinking is being investigated. Several factors, including road construction and water seepage, may have contributed to the soil shifting in the hilly village, according to sources.
