Clay Travis: Joe Flacco/Lamar Jackson, Matt Kuchar overreaction, PAC 12 implosion

On today’s Outkick the Show, Clay Travis considered the recent trade acquisition between the Denver Broncos and the Baltimore Ravens dealing quarterback Joe Flacco to Denver in exchange for a 4th round draft pick. According to Travis, Lamar Jackson projects to be another Tim Tebow or Vince Young or RG III in that once a defense figures out he isn’t a passing threat defenses can easily contain his running game.

Clay Travis also mentioned that Lamar Jackson is not a paradigm changing player. This hasn’t happened in the NFL for 25 years. LeBron James, for instance, is a Karl Malone who can play point guard. LeBron James is not like any other player to ever play in the NBA. Lamar Jackson doesn’t project to be a paradigm-changing player like LeBron, said Travis. John Elway made the wrong move by choosing Flacco as did the Ravens in dealing Flacco and thinking Lamar Jackson is the future of their franchise. Although still a bad personnel decision, Elway made the smarter move.

Clay Travis went on to discuss the pending implosion of the PAC 12 Network. The commissioner projected each school would get 7-12 million each year. In 6 years they haven’t come close to the money Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott told athletic directors they’d see, while Scott is making 4.8 million a year.

Clay Travis shared he thinks the only college conferences capable of having their own network are the SEC or the Big 10. The PAC 12 don’t have a single rabid fanbase in the conference.

Clay Travis went on to share some insight on a recent story regarding Matt Kuchar. PGA tour professional Matt Kuchar reportedly only gave his caddy 5 grand after winning 1.3 million in last fall's Mayakoba Golf Classic. The 5K figure, however, was agreed to beforehand. Clay Travis pointed out that the caddy was not Matt Kuchar’s full-time caddy, he was a “rented caddy.” The story is mostly manufactured and was blown out of proportion when looking closer at the details. In fact, said Travis, Kuchar offered the caddy an additional 15K but the caddy chose not to take the extra money.

Finally, Clay Travis provided some sound legal counsel on Outkick the Show to President Donald Trump. According to Travis, Trump should declare a national emergency with regard to the border wall, thereby allowing the courts to handle the case and can determine if he has the authority to do so. Then, while the case is in court, the country can choose the course we take at the polls. Travis further added how many established Americans take our opportunities for granted. Illegal immigration reform should take place because the system is broken. A population decline is more of an issue than then over population, but America should be selecting first-round, intellectual draft picks to bolster our population with people who will continue to positively advance our cause, said Travis.
