Louisiana Congressman Cleo Fields will not seek another term in the U.S. House after Republicans redrew his district. He is instead running for the Louisiana State Senate seat left vacant after the death of State Sen. Larry Selders.
Roland Martin says Fields should have stayed in the congressional race and forced Republicans to answer for their positions on civil rights and voting rights. Roland argues that Black voters need to see exactly who could represent them if they do not turn out and that right-wingers cannot be given a clear path without a fight.
