Though Donald Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. spent the week feuding on Truth Social and Twitter, with Trump calling the conspiratorial Kennedy “the most radical left candidate,” the two may actually be a scarily great pairing. And Donald Trump knows it.
After Trump let loose on RFK Jr., Kennedy took to X and said that Trump had actually asked him to be his running mate, claiming that Team Trump “reached out” to him back in January. Aligned on American isolationism, anti-vax conspiracy theories, a hatred of the Democratic machine, and anti-immigrant sentiment, Trump and RFK Jr. might not be so different after all.
As discussed on the show, it can be hard to say who an RFK run actually takes away from -- that is if he actually gets on the ballot. But Team Trump could have actually been playing a smart game by trying to court Kennedy. Even if Trump says RFK is “going to be taking votes from Crooked Joe Biden” it's perha[s in the former president’s best interest to take Robert under his wing.
