After months of signaling that they wanted a wider war, Israel has ramped up attacks on the Lebanese people in a drastic escalation. Following the remote explosions of hundreds of electronics that killed and maimed dozens, the IDF has begun aerial bombardment on apartment buildings and villages they claim are Hezbollah weapons depots. In just one day they killed 550 Lebanese, who have been living in terror and desperately trying to flee.
The dead include two workers for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, one of whom was killed along with her child. But according to Benjamin Netanyahu it’s the civilians responsibility to find safety even though Israel has been bombing roads of escape.
Now Israeli officials are claiming that Lebanon will be “annihilated” and will cease to exist. This is all a consequence of Israel having NO consequences for their actions–the indiscriminate bombing on tent encampments and refugee camps, the targeted assassinations of children and journalists and hospital workers. This deeply immoral army is moving north into Lebanon and dragging the entire world with it.
