JD Vance has been on a historic run of very public, uncomfortable moments. From his weird ‘jokes’ about his wife Usha, to cattily asking Volodymyr Zelenskyy if he ever said thank you, to dropping the Ohio State championship trophy at The White House… this man’s cringe knows no bounds. The entire country of Greenland refused to meet him.
This Easter Sunday, the Vice President and adult Catholic convert decided to head to The Vatican to meet the Pope. After the Pope’s Easter address, he somehow found time to sit down briefly with Vance, someone who he has publicly disagreed with over the meaning of the Bible and whether or not “amoris ordo” means that one should have love for the stranger. In fact, the Pope used his final Easter address to call for peace in Gaza and an immediate ceasefire. We now know that the Pope called the Catholic parish in Gaza EVERY NIGHT to check in with how they were doing. He even called them from the hospital.
But yes, the VP had a brief meeting with the Pope that Sunday, and quite literally the next day, the Pope died. That is some next level trolling by the Pope, or what happens when someone meets a man so cringe, they can’t bear to go on.
