9:24Now PlayingHoward Lutnick spent a year defending Trump's tariffs on national television — fighting off members of his own party who wanted them scaled back. At the same time, the firm he built and handed to his sons was pitching a financial product that paid off specifically if those tariffs were ruled unconstitutional. The Supreme Court ruled them unconstitutional. Cantor Fitzgerald — now chaired by Brandon Lutnick and vice-chaired by Kyle Lutnick — denies executing any such trades. But Wired, which broke the story in July 2025, has not retracted it. And when Rep. Madeleine Dean confronted Lutnick in a House Appropriations hearing, he waved a newspaper article. He denied the trade. He did not deny the structure. The structure is the story. Howard Lutnick transferred a multi-billion dollar empire to his kids without paying a dollar in capital gains taxes. His sons' firm pitched a product priced on dad's policy failing. Dad's policy failed. The Supreme Court said so. You paid higher prices. You get zero refund. His family is still in the building.
