In order, worst first: Tennessee, Texas, Indiana, Louisiana, Georgia, Utah, Missouri, Alabama, Oklahoma, Arkansas. Every single one has a Republican governor, a Republican legislature, and voted for Donald Trump. Ten out of ten.
Here's the part that gives away the whole game: four of these worst-to-live states also rank in CNBC's top 10 states FOR business. The exact policies that make them a dream for business — the low taxes, the gutted labor law, the light regulation — are what make them a nightmare to actually live in.
Then Laura Ingraham went on Fox and called it "a blatant effort to denigrate more conservative states." Ingraham is paid a reported $10 million a year — and she lives in Virginia, with a Democratic governor and legislature. The loudest voice defending red states already voted with her feet. The ranking isn't an insult. It's a report card, and these governors earned every grade.
