YouTube Description
as posted by the channelA high school student in Tennessee attended a school board meeting where he tried to appeal to both the reason and emotion of those on the board while advocating for masks to be mandatory. The parents in the crowd weren't happy about this, and they started heckling the student when he talked about his grandmother who died from COVID last year. This is what is happening to our country, all because of disgusting misinformation. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

A Tennessee high schooler showed up at a school board meeting recently and gave an impassioned plea to the members of that school board to please implement a mask mandate for the schools in that district, because it's irresponsible not to do it. And as this young person was giving his plea and, by the way, talking about a relative of his that died from COVID just a year ago, he was heckled by the adults in that crowd. Take a look. This is absolutely disgusting. Here's the clip.
If I get COVID, I'm going to bring it to my family and I talk to my grandparents a lot. They're higher risk than me, so I don't want to give them COVID. This time last year, my grandmother, who was a former teacher at the Rutherford county school system died of COVID because someone wasn't wearing a mask. This is a very, this is a very. This is. Hey guys, we're here to act professional. Please, sir, go ahead. Thank you. This is an avoidable issue. And by not wearing masks in schools, it's irresponsible. We're killing people. This is not something that we should be doing for the education of our students. Thank you.
I don't even know what to say about the behavior of those adults. Telling him to shut up, sit down, them holding their little signs, let our kids smile. This isn't about smiling. This isn't about oppression. This is about, as the young high school student said, this is about being responsible and not killing people. But those adults didn't want to listen because they have had their heads filled with idiotic talking points from Republican lawmakers, right wing media, hell, even some of those on the left or some of those who used to be on the left, but have gone so far left they're actually now on the far right. Telling them that masks don't work. Telling them that vaccines are going to alter your DNA. Spreading lies and misinformation and it has now permeated this deep into society where grownups feel it appropriate to attack a child talking about his dead grandmother during a school board meeting.
That kid showed more style, more class and more maturity than every other grownup in that room that night. That's the kind of person, even though he's still in high school, that those adults should aspire to be. That's what we just witnessed there. The adults are supposed to be, as the saying goes, the adults in the room. But at that school board meeting, they clearly were not, they were petulant whiny idiots who rely on misinformation. And that misinformation as the young high school student pointed out is literally killing people. And at this point, every anti-masker, every anti-vaxxer, you all have blood on your hands. These deaths are on you just as much as they are on the governors who are giving in and letting the virus take over their states. You're all guilty of these deaths at this point. Listen to that child because he's the only one in that clip that was making any sense.
