2:41Now PlayingIf you have $450,000 to spare, there could be a ticket with your name on it! Virgin Galactic’s rocket powered space plane is offering a trip to the edge of space.
There are six seats on each hour-long flight, “Start Your Day” guest hosts Shannon LaNier and Bofta Yimam shared. The pair added with all that’s happening on Earth, they have no desire to visit space. “I did a story with the FAA, and I just learned so much about how they have to clear the space to really make sure these launches go off properly and seamlessly,” said Yimam, noting that she enjoys watching others take the trip. “It’s a heroic moment almost, it’s just very patriotic.” LaNier added that while Virgin Galactic, which was founded by Richard Branson, does seem safer than other rockets, he would only consider going when it’s safer, tickets are free and there are no issues in the future.
