Prime subscribers have made Walmart the largest retailer in the world outside of China. While Walmart has struggled to keep up with Amazon’s ecommerce, Walmart continues to dominate physical retail.
The pandemic accelerated the transition to online shopping but Amazon has officially surpassed Walmart in sales this year. Walmart is attempting to compete with Amazon digitally but only 5% of its sales are from ecommerce.
