So which party supports the middle class?
Let's start with housing. The American dream is to own your own home, but places like California have made it virtually impossible for anyone to do so.
San Francisco houses typically cost $1.5 million.
Of course, rents are also out of reach.
In contrast, the average price of a new home in Jacksonville, the largest city in Florida, is roughly $300,000.
In other words, one San Francisco shack costs the same as five homes in Jacksonville.
Now let's talk about taxes.
A middle-class family making $70,000 a year will pay over 10% of their income to the Californian government, but since Florida doesn't tax income, they won't have to pay anything.
In progressive states like California, everything is more expensive aside from income tax. Your gas and electricity bills, the price of launching a business, and many more expenses.
And in exchange for all of this, what do you get?
Not too much. Excellent public schools? No, California actually has the worst public schools in the country.
How about clean streets and good infrastructure? Yes, if you enjoy decaying roads, dirty public transportation, and the use of parks and sidewalks as open-air bathrooms,
Consider safe urban areas. Never depend on it. George Gascon and other left-wing district attorneys declined to prosecute many criminals, which resulted in rising crime rates with no end in sight.
Therefore, for the majority of middle class individuals, moving from deeply blue California to red states like Florida or Texas is a no-brainer, which is why millions of them have already done so.
