THIS or THAT Fertility Edition

Fertility prep is usually talked about like it starts and ends with prenatals, cycle tracking, and the perfect supplement stack.

Those things can absolutely have a place, but if we are talking about preparing the body for pregnancy, I want us looking at the foundations that often get skipped.

Your gum health matters because bleeding gums are a sign of inflammation. Your oral microbiome matters because your mouth is the gateway to the rest of your body. Your blood sugar matters because it influences hormones, inflammation, and metabolic health. Your sleep and breathing matter because deep, restorative sleep is when your body repairs and regulates. Your stress response matters because chronic fight-or-flight can affect your saliva, inflammation, and overall health.

Pregnancy asks a lot from the immune system, the cardiovascular system, the endocrine system, and the inflammatory pathways of the body.

Your mouth is part of that conversation.

Bleeding gums, gum disease, dry mouth, mouth breathing, poor sleep, and oral microbiome imbalance are not small details when you are thinking about fertility and pregnancy health.

So yes, take your prenatal, track your cycle, and support your body with the tools that make sense for you.

But also pay attention to what your mouth is telling you, because your gums are deeply connected to your hormones
