YouTube Description
as posted by the channelGetting a toothbrush near a toddler’s mouth is one of the most universally frustrating parts of parenting. Trust me, I get it. Even as a dentist, I’ve been through it with my own kids and I see it every single day with my little patients.
Here’s a few hacks that can help brushing easier 👇
🪥 The two-toothbrush trick
Give them one to hold and chew on while you actually brush with the other. Satisfies the independence stage without slowing you down.
🎶 Pair it with a song or routine
Toddlers love predictability. Same song, same order, same place.
🪞 Brush in front of a mirror
Letting them watch turns it into a game and shows them what’s happening.
🧸 Let stuffy go first
Brushing their favorite animal’s teeth before theirs lowers resistance fast.
The goal is connection over compliance. A calm, regulated kid will always brush better than a chased one.
