But the evidence that this has a significant impact in either children or adults taking stimulant medications is much more meager and inconsistent. For most individuals, focusing on reducing other causes of osteoporosis (kidney or parathyroid disease, long term prednisone or antacid use, smoking, heavy alcohol intake, chronic sleep disturbances, poor diet, inadequate exercise) will lead to healthier bones than will altering their ADHD medication.
