Atlanta mayor orders police to de-escalate confrontations. Rayshard Brooks, 27, was fatally shot by an Atlanta police officer. Brooks was shot in a Wendy's parking lot after a confrontation with police. Atlanta police chief resigned after Brooks shooting. APD officers must intervene if others use excessive force. NYPD is dismantling the plainclothes anti-crime unit. Six hundred NYPD officers will be reassigned immediately. NYC council proposes slashing police budget by $1 billion. NYPD commissioner said "Seismic shift" in policing culture. The anti-crime unit was remnant of the "Stop-and-frisk" program.

Two black men were found hanging from trees in California. Authorities said foul play was not suspected in hanging deaths. Robert Fuller, 24, was found dead in near Palmdale City Hall. State AG, FBI monitoring investigation into Fuller's death. La sheriff stated, "We're considering all circumstances." Malcolm Harsch, 38, found near Victorville City Library.

A 911 dispatch recording released in George Floyd's death. Floyd died after the officer pressed his knee into Floyd's neck and chest. 911 dispatcher expressed concern to the supervisor. The dispatcher stated, "You can call me a snitch if you want." Former officer Derek Chauvin was charged with 2nd-degree murder.
