Former President Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for the 2024 presidential election, criticized Vice President Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic nominee, for her ongoing attempts to change her stances on major issues such as energy, immigration, crime, and health care. Trump argued that Harris's reliance on press aides to make these changes, rather than addressing them directly herself, will not be effective in the long run.
"I don’t think that’s going to work," Trump remarked. "She can't handle a press conference."
Trump made these comments during an exclusive hour-long interview with Breitbart News at Mar-a-Lago, his opulent seaside resort and club, on Thursday evening. In recent weeks, Harris's press staff, often anonymously, has issued statements across various media outlets that revise her long-held positions on issues such as fracking, the "Medicare-for-All" healthcare plan, immigration, and crime policy. However, Harris has not personally explained whether she has genuinely changed her views on these matters, or if so, why and how these changes came about. This leaves American voters dependent on statements from unnamed and unidentified aides, as Harris continues to avoid holding a press conference or participating in a press interview to clarify her positions.
One of the most notable examples of Harris’s recent reversals, which prompted the New York Post to label her “Kama Kameleon” on its Monday morning cover, was her sudden shift on fracking.
