3:39Now PlayingBengaluru's poor infrastructure has been exposed again as heavy rains lashed the city on Friday (23rd October 2020) evening, causing streets to flood and creating absolute mayhem in several parts of the city.
In Hosakerehalli, cars were seen floating and water had reached a height of nearly 9 feet in many homes, damaging the houses on the lowest floor completely. This was a result of the stormwater drain in the area overflowing. CM BS Yediyurappa has announced a compensation of 25000 for all the affected households.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the city is expected to "receive light to moderate spells of rain with intermittent heavy spells of rainfall" in and around Bengaluru till October 28 2020.
