Clay offered several in-depth opinions on why the television ratings have skyrocketed for the NCAA/March Madness tournament and plummeted for the NBA.
Clay Travis also commented on the highly anticipated release of the Robert Mueller report, identifying it as a massive dunk — with “balls on the face” — on the mainstream media and President Trump critics. The Democrats committed one the greatest hoaxes of all time, said Travis, and amounted to a massive waste of time and money by people just couldn’t handle the defeat in the 2016 presidential election. This guarantees Trump will continue his term, and the Democrats are forced to consider other strategies to beat Donald Trump in 2020. Travis commented that Trump will not be beaten by trying to out-Trump, Trump. Clay Travis believes a Biden-Abrams team might be the ticket that has a chance to actually contend with Trump in 2020, but it is probably more likely that the Democrats will dig deeper in the identity politics game and will nominate Kamala Harris. Clay also shared his expert legal perspective on the obstruction of justice element of the report.
In NFL news, Clay Travis predicted Rob Gronkowski, who announced his retirement over the weekend, will be a first ballot, NFL hall of famer. Travis also mentioned that Gronk’s attorney wouldn’t be surprised if a return to the Patriots wouldn’t entirely be out of the question if Brady asked him to return for another playoff run next season.
Finally, Clay Travis commented on the most recent Michael Avenatti news, sharing that shortly after Avenatti announced an upcoming press conference to bring down Nike on Twitter, the embattled attorney was almost immediately arrested by federal officials and now potentially faces 50 years in prison for federal crimes. Travis mentioned that Avenatti has been one of Trump’s most outspoken critics, and the arrest and exoneration of Trump have undoubtedly contributed to the worst few days of Avenatti’s troubled life.
