4:34Now PlayingHow important are the appointments that each president makes? Should a president appoint community leaders and civil advocates, or corporate interests?
Turns out Biden’s appointments haven’t been all bad. It looks pretty good compared to every other president in living memory, but also because every other president in living memory has been terrible on this. Washington DC has been run by K-Street lobbyists for a long time, and nothing President Biden has done is going to fundamentally change that paradigm. While Trump’s cabinet was nakedly run by inept American oligarchs, cronies of the Trump family, and outright opponents of the agencies they were meant to lead, Joe Biden has certainly reached deep into the pockets of a few key corporate backers for some of his appointees.
