“Italygate”: The Hilarious Conspiracy Mark Meadows Was Pushing Days Before Jan 6th

Before the January 6th insurrection, had you heard of “Italygate?” In the days running up to the insurrection at the capitol, White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows was peddling an absolutely unhinged YouTube conspiracy theory known to some as Italygate in the Oval Office.

The conspiracy, as told by a former CIA station chief (yikes) is that there’s an IT company in Italy named Leonardo which was using satellites to hack U.S. voting machines and switching votes from Trump to Biden.

So what was the primary source for this information? You would think that you might need to pass a strict level of scrutiny in order to bring something to the president’s attention, but let’s remember that this is President Trump we’re talking about. The only piece of evidence that Meadows had to prove this theory was a 10 minute YouTube video. No offense to 10 minute YouTube videos, but that’s pretty weak.
