How Democrats Have Dropped the Ball on Reproductive Rights

Have Democrats done enough to protect reproductive rights at the federal level? If you were looking for the Democratically controlled House, Senate, and Presidency, to deliver on abotion rights (or even healthcare more generally) after coming to power in 2020, you are mighty disappointed right now.

Despite controlling all but the Supreme Court at the Federal level, Democrats so far have been unable to pass any kind of protections for abortion providers or patients. Some states like Massachusetts and Connecticut have taken steps to ensure that folks who get pregnant have access to abortions, but these states and these Democrats are the exception to the national campaign against reproductive rights.

This is despite everyone being fully aware that the Supreme Court is poised to destroy a fundamental right, there has been seemingly been no urgency on the part of the pro-choice movement to create a bulwark against the activist judiciary.
