This week South Carolina Senator Lindsay Graham decided to distract from his role in meddling in teh 2020 elections in Georgia to introduced legislation that bans abortions at 15 weeks of gestation. The bill is called the ‘‘Protecting Pain-Capable Unborn Children from Late-Term Abortions Act" which has us all wondering, how long did Graham’s alien overlords tell him it takes to gestate a hoo-man? Cause last we checked it was 40 weeks. Nothing late term about 15 weeks. The bill does have a carve out for victims of incest, rape and for the health of the mother, but nothing other than beign able to legally prove one’s rape is specified. And we all know how serious law enforcement takes rape cases!?!? That’s why rape kits languish untested in police storage rooms right now!
The bill also claims all kinds of pseudo-science, focuing on the “fetal pain” which it claims can be felt as early as 7 weeks. (Patently false). None of it actually matters because just back in 2015 the GOP floated a near identical bill that banned abortions at 20 weeks. So why 15 now? It’s arbitrary. The goal is control.
Yet the majority of Americans support abortion rights and have been fired up by the horror stories in the wake of the Dobb’s decision, with women in particular registering to vote in numbers not seen in years. So the question is, will Graham’s draconian gamble pay off? Or is he shooting the entire GOP in the foot?
