Starbucks CEO Must Apologize to Workers!

Have you ever gotten an apology from a CEO? What about an explanation about your rights as a worker? If you work at Starbucks, you might see exactly both of those things from now-former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz after he was asked to do so by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).

It happened in response to a worker complaint filed with the NLRB against Starbucks, alleging that the company is withholding benefits from employees in unionized or unionizing stores, which is illegal. Additionally they have fired workers and closed stores as retaliation. The complaint further alleged that Schultz had repeatedly told staff that it would be “futile” to join the fledgling Starbucks worker's union.

According to Vice, we’re supposedly going to get a full confession and admission of wrongdoing: “the NLRB is demanding that Schultz record a video confessing his alleged violations of labor law and explaining the rights of workers in front of union employees, a representative of the union, and a representative of Biden’s NLRB. A recording of the video will need to be made available”

We’re not holding our breath but we will be sipping our lattes contentedly like Kermit the Frog if it does happen!
