In the aftermath of the Hurricane that recently destroyed much of Florida, Florida Senator Rick Scott, R, made the rounds on cable to address the federal response… or tried to anyway. Instead of focusing on a federal response for their fellow citizens, a number of Republicans have taken to disparaging FEMA for something totally bizarre.
Republicans have begun to accuse FEMA of incorporating Critical Race Theory (CRT) into their rescue efforts, somehow, and that the federal agency in charge of disaster relief is going to discriminate against conservatives. Over the weekend, Rick Scott was asked about these baseless accusations, and instead of trying to be an adult and speak to his constituents about responsible things (in the wake of an incredibly destructive natural disaster) he chose to obfuscate and talk about bringing everyone together.
