13:52Now PlayingCould this finally be the indictment that takes down Donald Trump? In Georgia, the former president has been charged 41 counts for allegedly subverting the will of the people. The charges include forgery or false documents and statements, impersonating public officers, influencing witnesses, and election fraud or defrauding the state.
Not only Trump is in trouble but 18 of his friends as part of a “criminal enterprise.” Fani T. Willis, the district attorney, and the Fulton County grand jury have decided to pursue RICO charges or racketeering charges for Trump and his goons. RICO charges often lead to longer prison sentences and larger fines and can be used to punish groups or gangs collectively (as we see here).
Besides the heftiness of RICO charge, two other obstacles stand in Trump’s way of getting off easy: in Georgia, the GOP governor lacks the ability to pardon and state crimes cannot be pardoned by the president. Oh we’ll most likely get a mugshot as well as a televised trial as well.
Now Trump has 10 days to turn himself in. Clocks ticking!
