Surprise! That’s Covid. Now before you start scrolling away or block out this information, let’s talk. Following the holiday season full of traveling and seeing grandma and grandpa, Americans brought back not only their gifts but a deadly disease still lingering in our bodies and our air.
According to experts and waste water data, this Covid season has been the second-largest since the pandemic began, after only the omicron surge from late 2021 to early 2022. Doctors also worry that this strain, JN.1, “seems to be packing a meaner punch than the prior strains.”
But meanwhile, you wouldn’t know! Because the government and businesses have resumed business as usual for several years now, doing away with public health precautions and “keeping the economy moving.” The CDC no longer even tracks COVID-19 cases! In California during the worst of this wave, new health order allowed Californians who CURRENTLY HAD COVID to return to work or school as long as their symptoms are “improving.”
