12:57Now PlayingAnother day and another hate crime against a Palestinian-American, against a backdrop of an ongoing Israeli assault on Palestinians in Gaza. Sadly this is also not the first time a hate crime has been perpetrated upon children.
This time it was at a public pool outside of Dallas, Texas, when a drunk woman attempted to drown two children by dragging them to the deep end and holding their heads underwater. Up until the incident she had been yelling at the childrens’ mother, who wears hijab, asking her where she’s from. While the woman is now out on bond, police are charging her with a hate crime.
Palestinian-American activist Linda Sarsour weighs in about what Arab and Muslim Americans are going through right now, the fear they’re living in and how their pleas for a ceasefire are being met with silence. She herself was a target of Islamophobic bigotry and has organized against it ever since 9-11 and the ensueing targeting of Muslims. Linda has some tough love for Democrats but has no love for Donald Trump.
