Cuomo, in a press conference, says his stepping down will give the state government room to continue the business of the people and allow leadership to move forward.
This scandal has given way to historic firsts, making Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul the first woman to hold the position advancing and Andrea Stewart-Cousins as the first Black woman to serve as New York lieutenant governor.
