On March 18, 2018, Stephon Clark was shot and killed by two Sacramento police officers in the backyard of his grandmother’s house.
The officers alleged that Clark was holding a gun in his hand, but it turned out to be his cell phone. He was 22 years old when he tragically lost his life and he left behind two sons. Those officers were never charged with his murder.
Sequette Clark, Clark’s mother, launched the “I Am Sac” organization to push for police reform and social justice. She joins Nayyera Haq on “The World Tonight” to talk about her son’s legacy.
