8:13Now PlayingIn March, the Asian American and Pacific Islander community were devastated when Robert Aaron Long shot and killed eight people, six of them Asian women, in three Atlanta area salons.
He plead guilty to four murder charges and is due in court in late August for charges related to the other deaths during his shooting rampage.
As a result from the tragedy, Stop AAPI Hate activists began to collaborate with Black Lives Matter demonstrators across the country, by calling for solidarity and mobilize marginalized communities to promote change.
Activist Robert Peterson, son of one of the Atlanta shooting victims, Yong Ae Yue, joins Charles Blow on “Prime” to discuss the importance of solidarity between the two groups.
