YouTube Description
as posted by the channelOn August 11, 2024 at approximately 10:10 PM, officers with the Lake Forest Police Department received a call of a 2015 Nissan Altima being driven erratically. They initiated a traffic stop in Sheridan Road, and Officer Sineni approached the driver side while Sergeant Signa approached the driver side. Officer Chernikovich arrived on scene to assist moments later. Officer Sineni asked the driver where she was coming from, and she told him that she was headed home after attending a K-Pop concert at the Rosemont Theatre.
The driver was identified as Lisa, and she seemed incoherent while exhibiting indicators of impairment. Her daughter was in the passenger seat. Based on the odor of alcohol, Lisa was asked to exit the vehicle and perform field sobriety exercises.
The first field sobriety exercise was the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test. During the HGN test, Officer Sineni observed the lack of smooth pursuit and distinct, sustained nystagmus at maximum deviation, and the onset of nystagmus prior to 45 degrees. The second exercise was the Walk and Turn test. During the Walk and Turn test, Lisa did not touch heel-to-toe on each step and did not keep her arms at her sides. The third exercise was the One Leg Stand test. During the One Leg Stand test, Lisa failed to raise her foot in the proper fashion and put her foot down before the test was complete.
Following the field sobriety exercises, Officer Sineni offered Lisa an opportunity to take a Preliminary Breath Test (PBT), but she declined. Based on her erratic driving, her admission to consuming alcohol, and her inability to adequately perform the field sobriety exercises, Officer Sineni placed Lisa under arrest for driving under the influence. After she was handcuffed, Lisa was searched by Officer Chernikovich and placed in the patrol car.
Lisa was transported by Officer Sineni to the Lake Forest Police Department for further processing. Based on some concerning remarks she made at the station, she was transported to Lake Forest Hospital by LFFD for further evaluation. Blood and urine samples were collected for further analysis at the hospital. Lisa was cited for driving under the influence - alcohol (625 ILCS 5/11-501(a)(2)), operating an uninsured motor vehicle (625 ILCS 5/3-707(a)), and tail lamps out (625 ILCS 5/12-201(b)).
