5:58Now PlayingCedar Rapids is still rebuilding after a devastating flood in 2008. And some educators in the Iowa city are involving students in that challenge. It’s just one way the program, Iowa BIG, is partnering with the community to promote new ways of learning.
“The idea that teachers create fake problems is just so silly to me. Your community has [infinite] problems that are always better than that math problem,” says Shawn Cornally, who teaches STEM disciplines at the program Iowa BIG.
