Can A Man Wear A Dress? 👗

Twitter in 2020 brought us a few headlines outside of covid and quarantine, and one that caused a particular stir was the genderfluid Vogue shoot with Harry Styles.

Which brings us to the question, how damaging is it really when a man wears women’s clothing?

Is it harmful or helpful? Is it feminist erasure or feminist expansion?

We knew we had to keep the conversation going, and in this Millennial Minute we do just that. Our host, David Grasso, is joined by Hilary Levey Friedman, author of “Here She Is”, and Isabel Brown, Turning Point USA, to discuss what impact does a man wearing women's clothing make to our society?

Brown states that while it’s great to be in a country where we all get to have the individual liberties to wear whatever we want without being told otherwise, we shouldn’t ignore the societal erasure of feminism and biological gender differences by allowing dresses on men to be part of the norm. Whereas Freidman states that norms naturally change and evolve over time and what we’re seeing now, along with the success of such shows as “Rupaul’s Drag Race” is not an erasure of feminism but an expansion of the spectrum of what is possible for everybody as an individual in how they choose to express themselves.
